Welcome to my opinion piece on Warned collectors, who seems to have dodged their customers and are avoiding all responsibility.
From the start, Warned Collectors is apparently a company profiling itself by means of bringing Limited print titles to the Nintendo Switch in physical versions. Basing their sales on the FOMO principle, which is Fear of Missing Out. Their titles were interesting and were promised to be delivered within the “to be expected” time frame.
At first, they replied to fan questions and were rather active on social media, but slowly and surely, they stopped being active and more and more time expired. A random update now and then, to apologize for the delays and before we knew it, many collectors had even surpassed 6 months on their orders. Myself included, for all intents and purposes, I am one of many Switch collectors that have seemingly been wronged by them. I asked them for news, they ignored me. I asked for a refund, they ignored me. I asked for comments, you guessed it right, I was ignored once more. I filed for a personal complaint with the European trade commission against them as I do not like the way they treated me as a customer. I felt a decent waiting period for the delivery has been expired.
Then our friends of NintendoSoup published an article on them and calling them out as well. At that time, I had already gone through reporting them on PayPal as well and quite frankly, so should you, even if the time period has passed on the 180 days, still complain! If you feel the same way as me, it is utmost important that PayPal and your credit card company labels this company as unreliable.
The article (of NintendoSoup) finally brought their Twitter back to life and before you knew it, they were posting alleged information about them, in fact, having ordered the games, but after speaking to many other publishers, only 1 game was really mentioned on their screenshots and this was not even ordered. So the proof they showed us, was not even actual proof? You know right, fishy to say the least… Today, NintendoSoup published a second article, explaining the situation even more.
Their twitter feed right now even has comments from other limited print companies like Super Rare Games that explain how far they really are… Spoiler alert: Barely anywhere!
So I went deeper, being a reviewer also comes with some reach in the community and I reached out to the developers behind the games. Goblinz Studios who made Dungeon Rushers had this to say:
As much as I know it should. We passing all the validations and we are waiting a retail PEGI. But I can check with my distributor.
We asked them to do so, once we get more information, we will be sharing this information.
Next up, we contacted the developers behind Pankapu, this was their response:
the initial deal with Warned Collector has been all set up with our publisher Plug-in Digital. We were only involved in the assets. I totally understand your concerns, they’ll have to explain the issue as it will result in a bad image for the game and the company. I assure you that I’ll keep you and the community informed as soon as I have some news.
Last but not least, the developers behind the third Switch game, Zombie Night Terror:
Our side is quite simple, our Nintendo Switch & Mobile publisher (Plug In Digital) found a ‘deal’ with warned collectors, which was for a physical limited version of ZNT Switch, a Vinyl of our OST and some prints.
